|Resources purchase||The building “Market” allows having economic relations with other players. To achieve the tasks, you will need a merchant guild, and, in particular, training of merchants.|

|City foundation||City foundation may be carried out only at a location that you have previously explored. In addition, an obligatory requirement is to have a trained settler.|
|Domain seizure||There are various mines, pits, gold veins, diggings, which can be seized. Seizure is possible, if there are no enemy fortifications or towers left.|
|Buildings destruction||Buildings in outer domains and structures raised beyond a city’s gates can be destroyed.|
|Slave capture||This mission is obligatorily accomplished using carriers, as only carriers have capacity.|
|Vision||A specific science needs to be studied. In addition, you need to have at least one building with trained visionaries. Using visionaries, you can observe others’ missions.|
|Espionage||A special skill also needs to be studied. Spies make it possible to penetrate a rival’s domain or castle, watch buildings, troops, availability of resources, etc.|
|Robbery||Just as with slave capture, carriers are involved in robbery.|
Even though war is the main event in the world of MyLands, the emphasis in the game process is made on the economic side, as the more troops you create, the more resources you will need to allocate to them. Just as in real life, it is not enough to have money for creating an army. Crops, wood, gold, iron – this is what a My lands unit consists of. Therefore, those who like crushing the enemy with legions of newly-recruited soldiers will have to reconsider their opinion with regard to war: units are not expendables here, they need to be fed, nourished and cherished.
Your army in MyLands can and needs to be «upgraded». To do this, an Alchemist Lab needs to be constructed. The science you will study there will be at first used to study the types of units, and then to «upgrade» them – increase each unit’s force, but also its particular characteristics.
Just as many other strategies, My lands has a strict system of troops opposition. For instance, it is known that pikemen should be used against cavalry, cavalry against archers, infantry against pikemen, and so on. It is the same with My lands, and the system is easier to remember as a picture read from the left to the right: warriors are killed by cavalry, cavalry is killed by airborne units, airborne units are killed by archers, and archers are killed by warriors… Mercenaries, mages, healers and carriers live separately in the world of war.
Each type of troops is trained in a particular building, the level of which can also be upgraded. However, a building’s development level does not define the unit’s force. The higher is the building developed, the less time will be required for training. And I have to say that this is quite important, as all processes in My lands take very much time. For example, construction of some buildings takes 120 hours (i.e. five days!) of virtual workers’ hard labor. And a healer’s training takes as much as three hours at the building’s first level. At the same time, at the building’s seventh level, the time is reduced to one hour (however, it can be accelerated to 21 minutes, which is done by many players to develop more rapidly). Taking into account that a single unit doesn’t play any role, and huge hordes of soldiers are required, My lands game sucks you in the nets of unit training for months, years – for eternity!
By the way, the rating system should be mentioned. It protects game novices from experienced gamers. A recruit of My lands has to pass through five stages of training and army creation in order to get completely involved in the dangerous world full of adventures. The rating of army strength doesn’t allow stronger players with a higher ranking attacking weaker rivals on mining servers. Thus, a novice of My lands universe gets an opportunity to try himself as a great state’s ruler for months, without fearing his army’s integrity being threatened by stronger neighbors. However, this doesn’t fully apply to military servers.
Everything is very simple with economics in MyLands: extract resources, construct cities, train and maintain your army. The essential money, namely gold, comes from destroyed ruins. Thereafter, it is sent to the market, where the player can exchange it for the required resources: crops, iron, and so on…
My lands also has other sources of gold, for instance, gold veins. However, it is not an easy task to seize and, moreover, maintain them. This task is almost impossible to fulfill without magic and diplomacy.
An online game can’t be imagined without an opportunity to unite in clans. My lands is about the same: having constructed a diplomatic corps, you will be able to contact other players, unite in clans with them, share experience, help each other with resources, and fight the enemy together!
Speaking of My lands heroes, Heroes of Might and Magic come to my mind. Everything is the same here! A hero gathers an army, makes it stronger, faster. With the hero, the army better attacks and defends. However, the hero alone is worth nothing in My lands, so he’s just stuck in the tavern, waiting for you to hire him.
Scrolls with spells and artefacts help the hero. The more powerful are your hero’s artefacts, the more frightening he is in you enemies’ eyes. They should be searched for in ruins, but most often, they can be found sold at the artefact store for the gaming currency of My lands – black gems. Your hero may also get an artefact for accomplishing some quests.

It appears once per quarter, but the resources it contains are hard to imagine: over 1000$ in a single archruin.
There are also other types of earnings in games, however they are unofficial.
The game MyLands has a quest task to invite new players – Rulers – to it. Your earnings will be achieved through registering following players’ referral links, thus engaging them under the quest. The earnings make up 3 dollars per ruler. I.e. 15 dollars for a full set of rulers.
Sales of faction rating, and powerleveling of enemies’ heroes have become a hit of earnings in MyLands. The price per 1kk of faction rating makes up 0.4 dollars (wholesale discounts: approx. 15 dollars stands for killing 1 thousand enemy healers) + additional monetary bonuses for hero powerleveling. As this type of earnings has already been churned out for many MyLands players, according to the theory, one should start with building a city for producing healers, which would give 60,000 healers per month. Thus, you would get 115 dollars from a single server!
Earnings through mentoring have only recently developed in MyLands. The cost of one apprentice for the full cycle of studies makes up 35 to 60 dollars (it can be done on all servers at once). This cycle is passed by competent players within a month. Then, again, the circle repeats. As a result, you earn money, and your mentor gets useful prizes. Two prizes given for quests fulfilled by your apprentices are most useful in mentorship. Those are «Unlimited access for 12 hours», and «2,000 science units for 7 days».
Coaching in MyLands stands for advice on players’ development, right constructions, setting of floats, right choice of the hero, and so on. A coach (the advising player) doesn’t give any advices or strict recommendations, but rater seeks solutions together with the client. Working as a coach assumes reaching a particular goal. It is applied only by TOP players of MyLands. The earnings make up 10 dollars per player.
Offers to sell MyLands accounts can often be seen on specialized sites dedicated to sales of gaming accounts. The cost depends on the city’s level, availability of subscription, number of heroes and artefacts. For instance, an account of a player from the TOP 12 (3 heroes), with lots of various artefacts, is sold for 1,500 dollars.
There is a proverb saying that the first pancake is always a blob. However, this thesis cannot be applied to MyLands. Although this is the first strategic game in which the gaming currency is converted into «hard cash», everything is well-thought here. Of course, some minor things could be improved (for instance, the appearance of heroes could be more decent), however, this didn’t anyhow hinder MyLands to become the best online strategy of 2010, and thousands of players each day withdraw large amounts from its universe. It is worth giving it a try, isn’t it?
